Good morning Friends!
The past month has flown by. Each day as I try on new outfits, new ideas spiral through my mind on new work outfit combos and today I wanted to share a few with you.
Last week, I wore my Ann Taylor black sheath dress, black knee-length boots with a two inch heel, and my new plaid blazer from Ann Taylor Factory. I’m excited about this blazer for so many reasons. This timeless piece reminds me of plaid jackets, shirts and skirts that burst across my Pinterest and Instagram feed, serving as my inspiration for my late November work outfits.
I plan on pairing this plaid blazer with other black pieces – my pair of black trousers from Target, a simple black skirt, or even a brown skirt. I do have a shorter brown skirt which fits a more date night vibe than office wear.
I did try on a brown suede belted skirt at Ann Taylor factory last weekend but it was in either a size 0 or 4, so of course the 0 was too tight and the 4 too large. Nonetheless, I plan on scouring sales racks soon for a cute knee length brown skirt I can wear as well.
As you all know, dressing up for work for me lately has stirred my creativity and this past week was no different. I also decided to step outside my usual work outfits and I wore my old gray dress with black tights.
This gray dress deserves a mention, first because my grandma purchased it for me ten years ago and it’s held up for that long, but also because it’s a timeless piece, it hits right above my knees, and paired perfectly with the same black tight, long black boot combination as I wore with my other black dress the other day. Further proof that you don’t need to keep purchasing new shoes or dresses every year.
I used to think I needed to keep buying more.
But just because I love wearing cute, fashionable clothing that doesn’t mean that I have to sacrifice my budget to do so.
The dress also boasts three quarter length sleeves that flare around the edges, making it appropriate to wear interchangeably for date night or the office.
For Thanksgiving, I found a very old but timeless corduroy, forest green Talbots blazer that I wore with an old black shift dress with an assymetrical hemline. It was so cute and made me start thinking of holiday Christmas outfits. I’ve already been listening to Christmas music everyday, so my outfit felt appropriate.
That’s all for now. Come back next time and I will share even more outfits. I’m hoping to figure out some cute Christmas and December themed outfits in the next few weeks.
Love,
A
